What is Bowen Therapy?
It is a hands-on bodywork technique that is both simple and effective. Developed in the 1970’s by Tom Bowen in Australia, Bowen therapy is still fairly new to the world.
Whether you're a practitioner such as a chiropractor, naturopathic doctor, massage therapist, etc., or a newcomer to healthcare, Bowen therapy provides many simple tools that are shown to work for chronic pain, inflammation and misalignment.
It is unique not because of how it is performed but for how well it works. Best of all, it is easily learned.

Course Content
We’ll enjoy 5 days of live classes and clinical training covering a review of Modules 1-4 and the Advanced Procedures of Bowen Therapy Modules 5-8 in beautiful Costa Rica.
There will be plenty of supervised practice time to review each lesson. The class will also take the case history of live patients as a support for understanding the steps to a successful therapeutic outcome for real pathologies. This clinical experience will help clarify the scope of Bowen Therapy. This course is an intemnsive 4 modules and compares to 6 Modules of other Bowen Therapy Schools.

Prerequisites
There are no absolute prerequisites and the students attending come from a variety of backgrounds. For most students it is best to complete the first 2 lessons of Bowen Online (Complimentary 1 year subscription online) to be prepared for the class ahead of time. Anatomy and physiology will be covered during the class but for those with less background or experience they can watch the online lessons before the class as these lessons do contain detailed anatomy relating to the procedures.

Instructor Jonathan Damonte is a Bowen Therapist and Homeopath who brings over 20 years experience to his teaching. He is known for his detailed teaching style and adaptability for each students needs. He will make sure that each student is satisfied for each part of the course. Itinerary from SJO (San Jose Airport) to Samasati Retreat
Day 1 - Saturday, November 2, 2019
Arrive in San Jose, Costa Rica and transfer to the 4-star hotel, Don Carlos in the city. Located in the oldest historical section of San Jose, the 'Four Star' Hotel don Carlos is a small, but significant part of Costa Rica's rich heritage. Once upon a time residence for two pas Presidential families, the historical Hotel Don Carlo's warmth and charm, graciously awaits you. Day 2 - Sunday, November 3, 2019
After breakfast the group will depart 8:15am for Samasati Nature Retreat near Puerto Viejo. Travel time is approximately 4.5 hours via ground. We will pass through Braulio Carrillo National Park, the lowlands of Guapiles, the Caribbean port town of Limon, many banana plantations and then follow the palm fringed coastal road south by the beach of Cahuita to Puerto Viejo. We will arrive in time for lunch. The food is gourmet vegetarian. Non-vegetarian options are available for an additional fee of $7 for fish or $9 for chicken.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
If you are unable to arrive in San Jose on Saturday, Nov. 2nd and would like to make your own travel arrangements, please be advised that arriving in SJO after 1:30pm is too late to make the 4.5 hour journey by land to Samasati. Unless traveling by Sansa Air on the same travel day, an overnight stay near the airport is required for arrivals after 1:30pm.
